Help build the tools reshaping how the world manufactures
Helio is a small team tackling one of the hardest problems in 3D printing: predicting and optimizing how prints actually behave before they're made. If you want your work to ship fast, matter immediately, and sit at the intersection of simulation and real engineering — come build it with us.

Current openings
Staff Software Engineer — AI Agents & 3D Printing Shanghai / Changshu / Remote Full-time
View details
We're hiring a Staff-level, hands-on engineer to turn Helio's existing capabilities into a reliable AI-driven 3D-printing product. Our core runtime is primarily Rust with TypeScript across the agent layer, working closely with a large upstream C++ slicer engine.
- Own the end-to-end engineering of Helio's AI-driven 3D-printing workflows.
- Integrate geometry, slicing, simulation, optimization, and manufacturing knowledge into reliable product behaviour.
- Build and evolve agent tools, skills, workflows, evaluations, and recovery mechanisms.
- Diagnose failures across agent logic, tools, geometry, file handling, and slicing—and fix the correct layer.
- Deep experience in AI agents, developer tools, or autonomous software systems, or in 3D printing / CAD-CAM / computational geometry.
- Strong TypeScript and modern JavaScript engineering ability.
- Strong systems-programming fundamentals; existing Rust experience is highly valuable.
- Enough C++ to confidently read, trace, and understand a large unfamiliar native codebase.
- A self-directed ownership mindset.
Senior Machine Learning Engineer — Scientific ML Shanghai / Changshu / Remote Full-time
View details
We're hiring a senior machine learning engineer to build Helio's learned modelling capability for additive manufacturing—spanning scientific ML, predictive modelling, representation learning, and simulation acceleration.
- Design, train, evaluate, and ship learned models for complex physical and manufacturing systems.
- Build rigorous data and evaluation pipelines using simulation, geometry, and real-world print results.
- Work closely with simulation engineers to combine physics-based and data-driven modelling.
- Take research from paper → prototype → benchmark → physical validation → production.
- Strong hands-on experience building and training deep learning models for physical, spatial, or scientific problems.
- Excellent PyTorch skills and the ability to take a model from research prototype to production.
- Strong Python and solid general software-engineering ability.
- Strong mathematical and physical intuition.
- A self-directed technical leadership style.
Senior Simulation & Optimization Engineer — FEM / Computational Physics Shanghai / Changshu / Remote Full-time

We're hiring a senior engineer to help own and advance the two pillars at the heart of our product: physics simulation and optimization—bringing deep finite-element / computational-mechanics expertise to our core engine.
- Help own, maintain, and extend Helio's core FEM / physics simulation and optimization engine.
- Improve the predictive accuracy, robustness, and capability of our physical models.
- Calibrate and validate models against real-world printer and materials data.
- Write performant, production-grade numerical software across CPU and GPU / CUDA.
- Deep expertise in finite element methods (FEM/FEA) and computational mechanics.
- Strong grounding in numerical and mathematical optimization.
- Strong systems programming in C++ and/or Rust, with comfort in Python.
- A PhD in computational mechanics/physics, or equivalent hands-on experience.
